That's personal

Well, I've been thinking on a lot of things these days ... and I have finaly decided I'm going to do a make-over in my blog.

This thing of just talking about general fashion things isn't quite suited for me, so I thought and thought and thought and then I realized I should make it more personal. For example, talk about myself and obviously about clothes and shoes and shopping and all sort of things that are more related to me... and so, I'm going to do it !

Everyday I become more aware of the difficulties of life. Not money or political issues, but social and educational...
I've been praying for a long time to get in the University of the Arts in London and sometimes I think I might stand a chance ... however, there are times that I think : Mariana (yeah, that's my portuguese name xp ) you must be crazy if you think you can do this.

This University is really good and it's all I've ever dreamed of. And Fashion Journalism was always my dream job which scares me even more. If I don't get it I'm lost because I don't know what else to do. I can't take that course here in Portugal because it doesn't exist and even journalism isn't that great around here.

Anyway, I will continue praying and hoping for the best. Well, I was always told that ''Good thoughts bring good things'' so, I'll keep my mind positive :)

And now, here are some looks that I really love:

The Big Dream

Well, I know I am a crappy blogger just for the fact that I only write once a month, but I promise I will try to take this a bit more serious.

One of the many reasons of this absence of mine is my lack of creativity these days. I mean, I love clothing but I'm not as inspired as I usually am and, because of me being on holiday, everything seams too difficult.

My topic for this week (yeah, I've decided I'm going to write once a week now) is about my London university. I haven't got in yet, but I truly hope I do or else I haven't got a clue of what I'm going to do next.

The university is the 'University of the Arts London' but I will attend a college which is part of that. It will be the 'London College of Fashion' and I will be taking Fashion Journalism, so perhaps you will see me working for a magazine such as Vogue and Elle. Of course this is just a dream, but I hope to make it come true.

The LCF is located in Oxford Street, one of the most famous streets in London. I know it will be almost a miracle if I ever get in but I count on you to pray for me :)

Menshoes worn by women a.k.a Brogues

First of all, I know that I after this post many people will think I've lost my mind, but I can't do anything, because I really love brogues :D

Who hasn't seen those beautiful menlike shoes? They are just fabulous in my humble opinion.
The only problem I have with them is that I can't find many here in my city. We just have Zara, H&M and Mango to check things out and they aren't really helpful in that specific aspect.

Despite this little problem I have already seen really beautiful
menshoes worn by women, most of them I saw not in Portugal but in other country. I mean, of course there are people wearing pretty shoes of that kind, but they aren't many.

I saw a blue pair from Prada that I really loved! I could live in them! Well, the only thing is that they aren't really affordable, as you can expect.
Maybe some of these days a miracle happens and I can have my own.

Tipp: you should wear these shoes with skiny jeans or cute skirts so they can look more fashionable and beautiful :D

Leggings

My tastes are definitly changing. Two or three years ago I just couldn't stand leggins. For me they looked cheap and trashy, but now, I really like some of them and I have got several.

I like them when you use it with some great and cool t-shirt, but I really think that leggings should cover your bum-bum, if you get what I mean x)

Those leather leggings for me are really beautiful, the printed ones are cool too, but for me less is always more, so I think that some basic leggings can't go wrong. You can wear them when you go out at night with some top and accesories, but then you can wear them to go to school or maybe to go exercise in the gym. Besides these, there are also those great jeggings or treggings or something like this which are a mix of jeans and leggings and for me, they are great :D

Tipp: don't be afraid to use them just because you think your legs
are too big, just wear them with a longer t-shirt, which doesn't show off what you don't want to show or wear them with whatever you think it's sexy and work it, girl :)

Boyfriend Blazers

Well, first of all, you may be thinking (or maybe not): Why in heaven doesn't she writes in her blog, like, for ages? , the real answer is that I had some technical issues and I just couldn't remember this e-mail, I know this is embarassing ... but now, Marianne March is back in business :D

For this comeback I really had to have something really good, but then I tought : What ? And then I came up with the idea of talking about Boy Blazers, which for me are just amazing :))

Is there any better way to look sexy but at the sime efortless? It just gives you a polish look with some 'edginess' and you can where it at any time of the day depending on what you accessorize it with ...

Tipp: If your mother has some old , not fitted blazer, just try it on, wear it and say it's vintage ... In order to make it look better, you should pull the sleeves up, right above your elbow.

Here are some examples:

Walking near the sky

It may seem a cliché but, as 99% of women, I too love high heels. I could even sleep with a pair in my feet ...

They can make everybody look taller, slimmer and just more elegant.

Even regular shops have exquisite heels and really affordable, so everyone can buy them.

For me, the worst thing is that I'm too tall to wear them because I kind of look like a giant when I put them on ...

I think there should be awards given to shoe designers because some of them are really artistic and should be known all over the world.

Who knows, maybe some day ...

What I also think there are shoes which are a little bit too over the top and nobody can really walk with them, they are really just 'look shoes' and not 'walk shoes' , but they are really works of art.

Flower Power

I love flowers, but lately they seem to be everywhere.

Well, at least I look around and all I see is a bunch of flower prints in stores.

Don't get me wrong, cause I really do love flowers and I think they can put out a look really sweet and cute, but there are people who exagerate ...

Yesterday I was walking, and all of a sudden I see a girl with a flower shirt and flower jeans ...

Well, what I really want to say is not to go over the top with flowers, but please, keep using a little touch of them cause they really bright up my day :)
